About

Broadstairs Chess Club was founded in 1887 and meets on Monday evenings from 7.30 upstairs at The Bradstow Mill: situated near the top of Broadstairs’ High Street –  CT10 1NG.

The club is open for most of the year with two-week breaks at Christmas and in August.  Players of all ages and abilities are welcome and the club’s safeguarding policy is available. There is plenty of chess: apart from the club championship, the Goodall Cup, named after W.F.Goodall, long-serving secretary during the first half of the last century, we have a knockout competition, a summer swiss and a blitz tournament to round off the season in July.  Broadstairs enters teams in four of the Thanet League competitions with home and away fixtures throughout the season as well as team and individual buzzer tournaments.
