Broadstairs Chess Club was founded in 1887 and meets on Monday evenings from 7.30 upstairs at The Bradstow Mill: situated near the top of Broadstairs’ High Street –¬† CT10 1NG.

The club is open for most of the year with two-week breaks at Christmas and in August. ¬†Players of all ages and abilities are welcome and the club’s safeguarding policy is available. There is plenty of chess: apart from the club championship, the Goodall Cup, named after W.F.Goodall, long-serving secretary during the first half of the last century, we have a knockout competition, a summer swiss and a blitz tournament to round off the season in July. ¬†Broadstairs enters teams in four of the Thanet League competitions with home and away fixtures throughout the season as well as team and individual buzzer tournaments.
